Life is a Journey!!!
Hola!!! I understand life is a journey, and definitely not a linear one. Through life, we go through experiences that can change the way we perceive our world. As a Clinical Psychologist, I am dedicated to help you learn how to develop a strong relationship with yourself and your environment.
My work focuses on creating a person-centered approach, to target dysfunctional thoughts, feelings, behaviors and habits that might be the product of past or present experiences, trauma, grief, loss, and/or unhealthy habits or addictions, among a variety of reasons. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to help you achieve your unique goals and regain your personal sense of purpose.
I know life is not a one size fits all, when it comes to helping you with your unique needs, so I practice the integration of several therapy approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, prolonged exposure therapy, MI/MET therapy, positive psychotherapy, couples psychotherapy, existential therapy, humanistic therapy, among other therapies, to address your specific mental and behavioral health necessities.
I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish which allows me to offer my services in your preferred language. I even speak Spanglish!!!
My educational background includes a MA and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, from Carlos Albizu University in Puerto Rico, with magna cum distinction and distinction, respectively. I have a BA in Social Work from Universidad del Este, in Puerto Rico, with cum laude honor.
I firmly believe we need to balance work and personal life, so I spend my free time traveling, playing board games, singing karaoke with an unfriendly voice, and engaging in many activities with friends and family, as I am proud to call myself a sister, a mother, a stepmother, a grandmother, and an auntie, a few of my most enjoyable roles.
